Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.), who is also known as Prophet Abraham in the English tongue, is considered to be one of the most sacred personalities in Islamic history. He is considered **Khalilullah (Friend of Allah)** and honored as the great grandfather of many notable prophets, such as Hazrat Ismail (A.S.) and Hazrat Ishaq (A.S.). His life thus encompasses, above all, the manifestation of faith and sacrifice, and further divine guidance.
Born in a society steeped in idol worship, Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) questioned the beliefs of his people from an early age. He rejected idol worship and sought the truth, ultimately recognizing the oneness of Allah. His firm stance against polytheism led to a major confrontation with King Nimrod, who ordered him to be thrown into a blazing fire. However, by Allah’s command, the fire became cool and harmless, demonstrating divine protection for His righteous servant. One of the most significant events in Hazrat Ibrahim’s life was his willingness to sacrifice his beloved son, Hazrat Ismail (A.S.), in obedience to Allah’s command. Just as he was about to carry out the sacrifice, Allah replaced Ismail (A.S.) with a ram, establishing the tradition of **Qurbani**, which Muslims observe during Eid ul Adha.
Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) also played a crucial role in the construction of the **Kaaba**, the sacred house of Allah in Makkah, alongside his son Hazrat Ismail (A.S.). His legacy continues to inspire believers, reminding them of the importance of faith, patience, and submission to Allah’s will.
